Wiltshire Scrapstore - European Social Fund National Award Winner

Wiltshire Scrapstore and Reuseful UK are thrilled to announce that Wiltshire Scrapstore have been awarded the European Social Fund Award (ESF). Wiltshire Scrapstore is a small community-based environmental charity that makes the planet greener and also helps people to use learning to improve their lives.

Worcester Resource Exchange (WRE) and Reuseful UK are very pleased to announce that WRE have been awarded the 2015 Queens Award for Voluntary Service. This unique national honour was created by Her Majesty to mark the Golden Jubilee in 2002 and to recognise the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups of volunteers. WRE is run by a small group of staff and volunteers from the local community working hard to give something amazing back to their community.

A GROUP of university film students have teamed up with a Puddletown based charity to work on their latest project.

The Dorset Scrap Store has proved an invaluable resource for students from The Arts University Bournemouth who are working on their graduation film.

The film, entitled Litter Bugg, is a fantasy drama that sees hero Dustin Bugg seek happiness by building a friend from the litter he collects.

Here at Reuseful UK, we are big supporters of apprenticeships. We believe in training up willing participants, and giving them a valuable skillset for the future.

A really nice success story from one of our network is Sarah Towers. CCORRN who run the Bits and Bobs store recruited Sarah through an apprenticeship referral scheme.

Over the last year Sarah has completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration, and also Level 2 in I.T, whilst working at Bits and Bobs Scrapstore she was enabling her to earn and learn.
