The Dorset Scrap Store has proved an invaluable resource for students from The Arts University Bournemouth who are working on their graduation film.
The film, entitled Litter Bugg, is a fantasy drama that sees hero Dustin Bugg seek happiness by building a friend from the litter he collects.
Here at Reuseful UK, we are big supporters of apprenticeships. We believe in training up willing participants, and giving them a valuable skillset for the future.
A really nice success story from one of our network is Sarah Towers. CCORRN who run the Bits and Bobs store recruited Sarah through an apprenticeship referral scheme.
Over the last year Sarah has completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration, and also Level 2 in I.T, whilst working at Bits and Bobs Scrapstore she was enabling her to earn and learn.
What is National Apprenticeship Week?
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
Borders Scrapstore takes unwanted materials from local industry and households and turns them into valuable resources for play, arts and crafts, benefiting some 4,000 users right across South East Scotland.
