Swindon Scrapstore Reuse Centre has secured £20,000 funding over a 2 year period from the Lloyds TSB Foundation to set up a Reuse Office Furniture Project. 

The government has announced a £17.5 million package of support for communities who wish to use the Community Right to Build to shape development in their areas.

Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, today joined First Minister Alex Salmond, to launch Scotland's Climate Justice Fund and called for other countries to share Scotland's ambition on climate change - by both reducing their carbon emissions and implementing climate justice. Climate Justice Fund

Scrapstores take clean business waste like: off cuts of card, fabric and plastic for community groups and families to use in art, craft and play. Unusual shapes, textures and materials are available in a kaleidoscope of colours -it's no wonder scrapstores are often referred to as "Aladdin’s caves".

Refurnish is the latest scrapstoresUK member. They are developing a scrapstore to add to their already impressive reuse services. They have just won the Doncaster Free Press Environment Awards for Recycling and were the Overall Winner for 2012.

Wells Scrapstore held a Consultation Day on Saturday 19th of May 2012 which was supported by 'Homes Under The Hammer' TV presenter Martin Roberts who was keen to show his support for the charity which is struggling to find replacement funding after the end of local authority grants.
